This Curious Time – Equinox 2025
This time is always curious one could say, as this experience of Life/Living we are sharing is a very curious thing. When we’re paying attention it’s quite clear that Life is only happening at this moment, Now, where Eternity and Energy co-mingle. It’s this constant churn of energy that we call ‘time’.
Our eternal nature aside, here as we pass through the Autumnal Equinox in 2025, things are very strange. Long-standing issues such as political and financial corruption are coming to light in new ways. And even as we struggle against these broken systems, there are breakthroughs in science and biology that hold great promise.
Let’s take the example of ‘The Corporation’. Corporations running amuck is nothing new, the Gilded Age in the late 1800s, with ‘captains of industry like Rockefeller, Morgan, Vanderbilt dominating the financial landscape and worker uprisings were common. Some resolution was attained with the Progressive Movement of the 1890s.
Today the destructive nature of legal entities whose only goal is profit is becoming quite evident. Whether fossil fuel corporations who continue to ‘lie and deny’, military corporations encouraging war at every turn, or their outsized role in how our government functions – we understand the pathology behind them more clearly than ever.
The corrupt political system and its constant us versus them mentality is losing its appeal as well. Even with mass shootings now commonplace in the U.S., there are signs of change in the wind. The desperation of folks like Trump, Netanyahu and their lapdogs is evidence they’re losing control.
Here the murder of Charlie Kirk comes into focus. His murder was committed by a young man saturated in a MAGA family. He didn’t think Charlie went far enough in his hate speech. And his death has generated all sorts of further distortions and threats to those opposed to an ideology that encourages hate or disregard for those who are of different skin, ideology or sexual preference. He did not use words that reflected the master he claimed to follow.
Our planet is undergoing tipping points in climate, in pollution and in livability. The energetic chaos reaches to Sun and Earth directly, as hurricanes, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions become more and more frequent and potentially destructive. Sun and Earth, these huge centers of energy surely hold consciousness as well, and they are driving a purge of the old system like nothing before.
And now we have this strange comet/not comet called 3I/Atlas hurtling through our solar system. Massive in size, it is not following the pattern of comets. It’s trajectory is off, the composition of its ‘coma’ is weird, and it will be on the opposite side of the sun when it reaches it perihelion. Strange. There are several ‘comets’ showing up these days. Along with comets, talk of aliens and encounters seems to. be at an all time high.
What is in store for us as we ride time into 2026 is hard to say, and perhaps even hard to imagine. What is certain is that our old world is collapsing, and what is to come is unknown. At least we know that in the totality of Now, we can hold each other in our thoughts and hearts – forever. Everything, everywhere, everyone all at once. Crazy, but somehow refreshing. Cheers.
The Declaration of World 5.0
[This declaration is the short form of the mission this book invokes. It is
available as a video on the World 5.0 site, http://world5.org.]
We, the people of Earth, in light of The Three Truths, do ordain and engender
World 5.0. These truths are first: We live in Eternal Awareness and
this constant flux of energy. We are one. Second: Here, of prime
concern is our intent: fear or Love. And third, only Love makes us
happy.
We ascribe to the principles of integrity, justice and balance in our transactions
and relationships, as the only way to ensure transparency and hence
fairness. We promote localism as the best method for augmenting
health and ecology. And we connect human rights and environmental
health, knowing that failure to protect one inevitably leads to failures
of the other.
We utterly denounce war and violence. There is no greater scourge on our
planet today than hostility, furthered by nation-states and the
military/industrial/media complex. There is no viable excuse to kill
or to invoke suffering on another. We withdraw our support from
any institutions that continue to condone war and violence.
We encourage pluralism and autonomy, where each of us is valued and
respected. The meager distinctions of gender, color, class, looks,
religion, sexual preference or wealth are of no consequence in light of
our true nature. We allow no ideology or morality to come between
us, as we are far better served by ethics. We support and revel in
our families, friends and communities, as these are the lifeblood to
happiness.
We require a transparent, global financial system for any and all currencies
based on a universal, InterWeb-based standard, bringing light to
fraudulent trading schemes. This model decentralizes power and
fosters honest trade, allowing for far greater freedom in how we
design and live our lives.
We engage in the exchange of goodwill, of ideas and of goods and services.
We create, design and build our systems and infrastructure based
on sustainability, ecology and a resource-based economy. Clean air
and water, access to food, healthcare, energy and information are all
inalienable human rights.
Already we embark on the redesign of our culture, just as already we embark
on finding our true selves. The signs of healing and remaking are
everywhere, and the unholy din of the old culture draws thin. Within
World5, we leverage our connection to All and each other to remake
our world
Of prime concern is restoring ecology to our Earth. Sustainable, organic
food production is required, as is renewable energy production.
Ancient forests must be preserved. Cradle to cradle is the only viable
model for the production of goods, and localism provides the key to
minimizing our consumption, while maximizing our health.
Here in the United States, we look to The Declaration of Independence and
Article 5 of the U.S. Constitution to initiate a new constitutional
assembly. The three-headed monster of corporatism, militarism and
elitism has no place within World5. With the help of The InterWeb,
we intend a document that simplifies the law, restores justice and
balance, and honors Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Further, we intend a Constitution of the Earth in an effort to mitigate climate
change and to restore stability and health to our planet. Research,
advisory and governing councils, working together, can provide the
wisdom and will for this effort. The Earth is a living breathing body
and our only home.
Finally, we Now initiate the Federation for Peace. This Federation belongs to
those of us who take the Oath of Peace. We renounce the ideologies
of hate and terror, and align ourselves with the Peace of Eternal
Awareness, to create Peace on Earth. As the InterWeb is the mind of
World5, The Federation for Peace is the heart.
This we declare: We Love; We Live in Peace; We Move from Here; Welcome
to World 5.0.
The Enemy Is Always Fear
In our utterly corrupt and confused and abusive culture, it’s no surprise that our strategies for finding happiness in our personal lives are lacking. How could it be otherwise? Money is supposed to be the great strategy for happiness, yet the obscene wealth of the Bezos, Musks and others has not led to unheard of levels of joy. Indeed, they seem no happier than anyone else, broadly speaking.
As we inherently know, more money does not mean more happiness. Assuming we’re getting by financially, we can X that one out.
The tv, internet voices or whatever has all sorts of remedies to remove the obstacles to happiness. Only problem is they’re all bogus. A pill, a fresh relationship, a new car – not going to help. The road to happiness is within, and the obstacle to your happiness is your fear. Let’s confirm why this is true.
We first have to back up a bit to understand the nature of reality and what is happening with this thingie we call Life. Life happens, is happening, only Now. This moment in time is where we, and everything exists, and nowhere else. Whaaaa? That’s not what we learned growing up! We’ve learned so much that is false from the old broken culture, we’re ready for a reset that encompasses a truer foundation.
So, how could Now be the only time that exists? It’s quite simple really, and obvious if we know how to look. You see, there is some truth in religion, speaking of the Eternity of God (for Christians), and describing us as God’s children. Which requires that we must be eternal as well. Like begets like. The whole damn universe, or universes, exist only in this infinitesimally small point in time where the future becomes the past. Kind of mind-boggling from the old world’s perspective. Yet that doesn’t make it untrue.
Think about your own life. Do you not feel like your fundamentally the same person you were ever since you became aware of your sense of self as a small child? Of course you do, because of course you are. All the years since you found yourself in a human body, you’ve been the same. Events never stop, the world ever turns, and yet we are always Here. Your body and behaviors have changed, you’ve learned, yet you’re still you.
The other side of our Eternity is the infinite sea of Energy we’re ever a part of. We don’t doubt this side, as each moment we’re living attests to this infinite energy. One of the reasons sports has such great appeal is because of the totality of Now. No going back once the ball is in the air. The suspense we feel, the quieting of our minds as we wait for the ball to do something good or bad (from our perspective and that of our team). It gives us a little tiny bit of a sense of our Eternity. We are experiencing Life right Now, and there is no other place in time where we can be.
Now back to fear. Having narrowed reality down to this moment we are all sharing, we have a much clearer vantage point for addressing our thoughts and emotions. The question becomes ‘How do we feel Now’. And how are we reacting to the ever flowing events in our lives?
This is a question of our intent. Our intent is the core of our being, our ‘soul’ in the Christian tradition. And what are our options? Ha! We know something of our options from all the ugly we experience in this corrupt culture we live within. What we learn as part of the truth of our existence is the requirement of integrity. There is no way to find the peace and love inherent in this Eternal Moment if we don’t take care of our responsibilities or if we act like a ‘hater’, taking advantage of others or acting poorly towards them. Look at most any CEO or politician.
As we come to understand the tremendous value of integrity in finding happiness, we also begin to see that fear always presents itself when we’re out of integrity. Hard to feel great about oneself when we’re ripping someone off or ruining someone’s life. I can’t understand how our ‘world leaders’ can act with such ignorance. As noted, money is a false god.
Yet if we comprehend the Totality of Now, we better understand our intent and its power. And we begin to see how fear is attendant to bad behaviors.
Easy to argue that there are a thousand reasons to fear that don’t involve bad behaviors. Agreed. Yet those fears disappear when the threat is removed. The fear I speak of doesn’t leave. It becomes stress or some other form of fear -hate, anxiety, neurosis or ‘just’ stress. It’s because we’re out of alignment with Life itself. (God if you prefer.) Bound to make us fearful.
So. what’s the alternative? Glad you asked. The counter to fear is Love. Love is what’s left once our integrity is restored and we let go all the negativity of the old culture. Love emerges within us on a grand scale once we get rid of the obstacles to Love. In truth there is only one obstacle. The only real enemy – fear.
The trauma the old culture has caused makes all this that I say much more difficult to understand. Our daily (right Now) lives are too much and too often a struggle. We cannot put our fears in boxes. We must get to their core, their falseness. We are living in eternity. There literally is no fear in God.
Love is indeed letting go of fear. This game/battle/learning is all happening Now. There is no other point in time that exists. Your body knows. It’s your ground for this experience. Use your intent to focus on breathing and being in your body. Let go when others attack or the world gets you down. Letting go right now is always your wisest choice. Happy to be with you…
Capitalism can not survive the Singularity
Super AI will finally teach us we don’t need money
There are four phases to the emergence of AI. The first incantation of simple artificial intelligence was what we call “expert systems” in the old IT lingua franca. An attempt to codify expert behavioral responses into a system that is trying to duplicate the capabilities of said expert. The ultimate demonstration of such an expert system was IBM Deep Blue’s chess series against the grandmaster Garry Kasparov, which successfully defeated the human world champion in 1996.
The second stage of AI was the development of machine learning capability, demonstrated in the creation of software-based neural networks that can reinforce learning in a method that works similarly to the ways our brain forms memories. The earliest demonstration of neural network concepts emerged in the late 1950s via Rosenblatt’s perceptrons, Kelley’s Backward Propagation model (1960), and indeed the term “machine learning” (1959) itself. But the practical application of machine and deep learning algorithms didn’t start occurring until the late 1990s.
We are now entering the third phase of AI where we seek to encode a human-capable AI or Artificial General Intelligence. An AI that would be indistinguishable from a human in a natural language conversation, whose software could recognize faces and images instantly, that would have the ability to learn any practical skill you could teach a human, and at least claims to be sentient. This is, and arguably always has been, the primary aim of AI-based research and development. An AGI would provide computers with the ability to automate any human-level activity in the workplace, and would build robot companions capable of broad integration into human society.
Incidentally, Science Fiction legend David Brin, has numerous times previously predicted that 2022 would be the year that the first claims of AI sentience would emerge — looks like he is right…

The final stage of AI development, from the perspective of the human race at least, is the emergence of super or hyper-intelligent AI or AIs. Even a single hyper-AI would conceivably have a higher order intelligence than the entire human race collectively. An AI that could unlock the secrets of the universe, but at the same time may regard humanity as simply superfluous, or as the greatest threat to machine intelligence. At least if the movies are to be believed.
The Singularity is breakaway AI intelligence

The primary issue for humanity with super AI is coming to grips with an intelligence that is clearly superior and can outwit us at every turn because of its intellectual prowess. This form of AI will present massive challenges to humanity, not only technologically but philosophically. An AI that can answer the question as to whether god exists. An AI that could cure every disease on the planet and grant all of us immortality biologically or digitally. An AI that could transform every aspect of human life on the planet.
One of the first things that a Super AI would likely tackle is fixing the damage humanity has done to the planet, the impact we’ve had on other species we share the planet with, and ensuring the most efficient form of governance for humanity as a whole. In doing so, all of our existing political and commercial structures are essentially rendered obsolete.
Let’s look at just the primary aspect of human governance and both the political systems we have today, along with the economic systems, incorporating global markets, banking, commerce, and even money itself. The optimal form of government in the post-AI world will be governments that are extremely resource and cost-efficient, with extremely high levels of automation — smart economies if you will. This will make economies massively more efficient, and lead to broad improvements in quality of life with advanced healthcare, education, transportation, engineering, energy management, and agriculture. This then leads to post-scarcity economies; economies where the wealth of the world becomes effectively meaningless in the face of such massive philosophical changes, and the fact that a normal human can have access to virtually any experience, product, or service at any time because of the collective wealth and advancement of the human race itself.
The elimination of the economy?
One area that AI and engineering advances is already making eminently more affordable is space travel. Once we can set up a base on the moon, mining water ice from Shackleton Crater, the cost of exploration of the solar system plummets. The primary costs of space exploration today relate to simply leaving the Earth’s gravity well. Once we establish a lunar base, those costs largely disappear, enabling us to think very differently about the resources available to us off-world.

Asteroid mining could produce a single asteroid that would be more valuable than 100,000 years of global financial activity based on our current GDP. One Asteroid amongst millions. What happens when a single asteroid like that enters the global commodities markets? They collapse and are worthless overnight. Assets become worthless because we can now populate the solar system and beyond, and the abundance produced by these highly automated societies will eliminate scarcity, both core elements of capitalism and the monetary systems we live by today. AI will make such advancements achievable.
The post-scarcity world will produce a new collective action amongst the species globally, from repairing the biosphere we inhabit, eliminating hunger, homelessness, and poverty, and even terraforming our neighboring planet Mars. An action that transcends commercial incentives and is simply in the realm of the possible.
This is why capitalism and even the way we measure economics themselves are no longer productive mechanisms for incentivizing human growth in the post-AI world. The advanced computer power of just a single super-AI will essentially lead to a more advanced AI, etc., meaning that the intelligence of these classes of super AI would lead to infinite improvements in intelligence and capabilities, or at least to some universal limit on conscious intelligence. Any problem we have could be solved, and we would get to a state of optimal existence fairly rapidly, perhaps in just a hundred years or so. Although, there might be some constraints to human advancement and growth that could be imposed by the AI or by physics themselves, in the interests of stability versus runaway events that are too rapid or extreme for humanity to adequately adapt.
The further along the super-AI path we get and the more unrecognizable human society will get from that which we hold near and dear today. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Well, human history teaches us despite many incredible technological leaps humanity has made, that there are elements of our history we absorb longer-term naturally, or that we tend to commemorate in story or in practice. The aim of such growth is ultimately for humanity to reach some future form of optimal human existence with limitless opportunities. But Homo Deus, our evolved human brethern, will have long ago evolved into something superhuman, just like the AIs that gave birth to this new age. Some will say that will make us less human, less real. It may be that some of us then choose to live as natural humans that have deliberately slowed human evolution at some future point, so as to protect the core of what we believe to be humanity itself.
Big picture leaps and bounds. But it puts our life today in perspective, that today we are passing through an era of human history where the existence of money has been core to our existence, as opposed to say the early agrarian societies of the stone age before money existed. There will be a time, and we are in historical terms very close to the emergence of this new era, when humans will look back at our economic systems today as quaint elements of a more primitive time in human evolution.

Scary? I’m not sure why it needs to be. But any change to systems like those that define humanity today will likely produce resistance writ large before it eventually becomes inevitable, that’s the truly scary piece — that this change will produce heated conflict and disruptive shifts in society that itself we must first survive in order to thrive.
Welcome to a world of real possibilities, bought to you via a world of silicon chaos.

Columbia Turns a Page
From Progressive International
Last Sunday, under the bright skies of Bogotá, thousands of Colombians gathered in Plaza Bolívar to inaugurate Francia Márquez and Gustavo Petro as the Vice President and President of the first progressive government in the history of Colombia.
“Today, the popular mandate for peace, for dignified life, for social and environmental justice has brought us to this square and to all the squares of Colombia,” said Roy Barreras, incoming President of the Colombian Senate, in the opening speech. “This is the rebirth of hope.”
Standing before the crowd, Afro-Colombian land defender Francia Márquez took her oath of office, swearing before God, the people of Colombia, and her ancestors to serve as Vice President “*hasta que la dignidad sea costumbre.*” Until dignity becomes custom.
Soldiers marched the sword of Simón Bolívar, a great liberator of the Patria Grande, onto the inauguration stage — the same sword that the M-19, the guerrilla movement to which Gustavo Petro once belonged, stole in 1974 in act of rebellion against Colombia’s corrupt regime.
As Gustavo Petro prepared to take the podium, the crowd in Plaza Bolívar roared in unison. “No más guerra! No más guerra!” No more war. Wearing the presidential sash bestowed to him by María José Pizarro — feminist, Senator, daughter of Carlos Pizarro, commander of the M-19 shot down on own his path to the presidency in 1990 — Gustavo Petro inaugurated the ‘Government of Life.’
“Many times in our history we Colombians have been condemned to the impossible, to the lack of opportunities, to a resounding ‘No’. I want to tell all Colombians who are listening to me in Plaza Bolivar, in the surrounding areas, throughout Colombia and abroad that our second chance begins today… We must end, once and for all, six decades of violence and armed conflict — in fact, I would say, two centuries of permanent war, of eternal war, of perpetual war in Colombia. It can be done.”
In a sweeping address, Petro called for a new internationalism in Latin America and around the world — not “discourse, mere rhetoric,” but robust institutions to bind together the sister nations of the South, from the Arab World to Africa. “Today, we must be more united than ever.”
Above all, Gustavo Petro called for peace. “I will work to achieve true and definitive peace: like no one else, like never before,” he said. “The Government of Life is the Government of Peace.”
The Progressive International is proud to accompany Council member Gustavo Petro on this journey toward a true and definitive peace — in Colombia, across Latin America, and around the world.
The Farmers Awaken (not in the US yet)
A few years ago the farmers of India captured the media’s attention with their blockades of major roads in and out of India’s cities. The Modi government had created and tried to enforce policies that supported the agribiz corporate agenda, and made life that much tougher for the already poor farmers.
One of the protestors, Mr. Singh, had this to say in November of 2021…“The root of the agricultural issue in India is that farmers are not getting the proper value of their crops. There are two ways to see reforms — giving away land to the corporations, the big people, the capitalists. The other is to help the farmers increase their yields.”
And after the year long protest, the government gave in, reversing the policies that initiated the protests. Make no mistake, the agricultural system in India is still a not mess of long-standing grievances and more recent issues, often around changing climate, yet it was clearly a victory for the farmers.
Just this past month, July 222, farmers in the Netherlands are making their voices heard with similar protests, blocking streets and entrances to grocery stores to make their point. In this case the Dutch government is using the need to reduce nitrogen emissions and runoff as the reason for new laws that hurt the farmers.
There is no question the agribiz model of farming sucks. It produces shitty food and the nitrogen runoff here in the US has devastated the Gulf of Mexico, creating vast ‘dead zones’ where fish cannot survive. Yet instead of sheparding the farmers of the Netherlands into organic, wholesome growing methods, they’re taking an approach that screws the farmers but leaves corporate agribiz pretty much intact. More BS.
We’re seeing uprisings in Africa as well, where Mr. Smarty Pants Bill Gates thinks bringing in big tractors and ‘the Agribiz Way’ to these farmers will make them ‘more productive’. Perhaps. It will surely make them more in debt, more exposed to nasty chemicals, and less in touch with the land they’ve worked for thousands of years.
Now we’re seeing Canadian farmers who see the writing on the wall that their government wants to impose similar harsh measures that large scale farms can comply with, but most small farmers cannot. Does it seem like there’s a pattern here? You bet.
And what is this pattern I speak of? It goes by multiple names, the two most common being The Great Reset (World Economic Forum 2020) and The New World Order (popularized in the 1990s). Now, these terms both immediately bring ‘conspiracy theories’ as the defining characteristic, yet if you’re part of whose behind corporate media would you not take this exact approach. Invalidate the idea regardless of truth – which is what corporate media has been doing for at least 40 years now.
Looking at our world, and why farmers and so many others are not putting up with the bullshit anymore, and there can only be one of two conclusions. 1) The Great Reset is clearly in evidence, and we must do whatever we can to resist. 2) These vast imbalanced are just the result of corporate greed, and we must do whatever we can to resist.
So, conspiracy theory or clear truth, our response must be the same. We must do whatever we can to resist. It’s what World 5.0 is about, and it’s just in time…
Rise of the Rainbow Tribe
We are emerging. We are finding our power. We are finding each other. We are Warriors of the Rainbow Tribe.
You of elitist tendencies cannot see us. You born into wealth and privilege cannot imagine us. You of the current power structure underestimate us. But we are Here, and we are emerging.
We are Warriors of the Rainbow. You saw us in Zuccotti Park, resisting the banksters that seek to impoverish our sisters and brothers. You saw us in Tunisia, where a brother set himself aflame in protest of corruption, awakening our people to form a new government. You saw us in Libya and Egypt, where you thwarted our efforts to create real change – if temporarily.
You saw us in Ferguson, Missouri, resisting the cold blooded murder of our brother Michael Brown finally igniting the reaction so desperately needed to stop these racially motivated murders. In Cleveland, in Chicago, LA, even my Cincinnati, all over this nation we rise to salute the fallen, and resist the blue boys and their masters, the perpetrators of this violence.
You saw us in Hong Kong, rising up against totalitarianism from the Chinese government, and in Tibet, where you illegally planted your flag over 50 years ago. You saw us in the Middle East, the unnamed peacemakers and healers hidden by mainstream media. You begin to see us even now.
And as Trump becomes the law of the land, you begin to see us everywhere. Just a few weeks back the largest protest in our planet’s history, as millions of women and supporting men stood for truth and justice. And again, as Muslims are being dishonored here in Trumpland, we stand, filling airports and neighborhoods with love and resistance to their bullshit power and greed. Our ‘leaders’ are even afraid to hold a town hall.
We are Warriors of the Rainbow.
We seek the dissolution of a culture where corporations are in control, and nation states do their bidding to keep us dazed and traumatized. This artificial legal entity ‘corporation’ – designed to usurp citizen’s rights and community strengths – must be banned.
We seek a dissolution of this system of globalization, where profits are privatized and deep environmental devastation is socialized, rarely addressed by the corporate polluters.
We seek a dissolution of the ‘for profit healthcare’ system. When it comes to human life and health, the profit motive does not belong.
We seek a dissolution of our broken government. The allowance of voting, almost always somehow rigged, is not enough. We seek a shift in power and taxation to the local level, as far as possible, to enhance the value and focus of how our tax money is spent.
We are Warriors of the Rainbow, and we seek far more than dissolving obstacles.
We seek families and communities that thrive, where each has their needs met, each contributes what they can, and each appreciates the inherent values of integrity, peace and love. This means a clear rejection of Trumpism and the war paradigm at every turn.
We seek reparations from the elites and controlling interests who have kept us traumatized, ignorant and enslaved. These reparations will be used to heal individuals, communities and our dear planet Earth, so long ravaged by the psychopathic thinking of these same controlling interests. Black and American Indian folks are especially deserving.
We seek wholesome, organic food that supports our bodies and unclutters our minds. To heal we must have vibrant, life-supporting nutrition and ecologies free from harmful pollutants. This migration to organic food necessarily dissolves the industrial agribiz model in favor of an Earth-supporting way of growing our food.
We seek local, sustainable solutions to our energy needs, rejecting fossil fuels at every turn. Solar and wind power, geothermal, tapping into untold power visionaries like Tesla could see – this is our energetic way forward, not in propping up fossil fuels.
We are Warriors of the Rainbow, and we see clearly now. We know we are all here together – here in Life itself. We know that our hope for peace and prosperity comes from creating and building supportive communities. We value integrity and personal responsibility. We know that relinquishing fear, enabling love and peace, in our hearts and minds, is the way forward.
We are the Rainbow Tribe. Our time is Now. Our answer is Love.
Ending Corporate Rule
So it’s clear that corporations, since their ‘modern’ inception in 1600 where Queen Elizabeth first allowed the charter of East India Company, have sped the introduction of technology and fostered global trade. It’s equally clear that they’ve outlived their usefulness.
When the United States was initiated, there were clear restrictions put in place to avoid the worst of European corporate abuses. This because our founding fathers were well aware of the abuse of power already being exercised by European corporations.
From ReclaimDemocracy.org…Corporate charters (licenses to exist) were granted for a limited time and could be revoked promptly for violating laws. Corporations could engage only in activities necessary to fulfill their chartered purpose. Corporations could not own stock in other corporations nor own any property that was not essential to fulfilling their chartered purpose. Corporations were often terminated if they exceeded their authority or caused public harm. Owners and managers were responsible for criminal acts committed on the job. Corporations could not make any political or charitable contributions nor spend money to influence law-making.
But those safeguards became unsafe over time, and the power of money and elitism have, well, I don’t have to tell you.
And yet the rabbit hole is deeper still. A handful of families has been at the helm of control for over 200 years, and they continue their long and unholy tradition of manipulating governments, currencies and precious metals. Names like Rothschild, Rockefeller, Morgan and Walton come to mind.
Even now ‘they’ are withholding information that would allow for breakthroughs in every area of our lives. They teach a false system of reality. They withhold or discredit the writings of Tesla and a host of others that could help us live more freely and help this Earth to heal. Not an interest of the controllers.
The privatizing of ideas through patents and intellectual property rights has caused irreparable harm to our species and culture. An attribute of Life, witnessed all around us, is sharing. An attribute of corporations is privacy.
How we replace this ungodly system of greed and corruption is our task. And understanding the methodologies that will bring down our corporate overloads is key.
On the macro level, we need to create and encourage governments of integrity at every level, where the role of money and elitist interests is subjugated to the needs of we, the people. Let’s be clear. Government’s role is to support the ‘life, liberty and happiness’ of its people -not false legal entities.
On the micro level, it’s about how we leverage our energy and money. By engaging with our communities to create local food and energy systems we disempower the global elite. Every dollar we spend is a vote for something. A greater awareness of whom we’re funding with our purchases is key.
Now in 2016 we may be witnessing the beginnings of a renaissance here in the US. As part of the above, we need to hold corporations accountable for what they do. They must be held accountable for the costs of their untold damage to people and planet. Examples are everywhere. The use of fossil fuels is killing our planet. The Monsantos of the world must be brought to heel, their manic lust for global domination is devastating our bodies, killing and maiming innumerable species, and contributing to the Earth’s most important asset of Life itself, our soil. The war machine. Big Pharma. The list is endless.
Yes, take a breath…
Another historically significant but neglected organizational type is the cooperative. In point of fact, cooperative living has been as essential of human existence since our beginning. Modern cooperatives are but worker-owned businesses. There are thousands of cooperatives active today, but most are no larger than the communities they operate within.
The beginnings of the modern coop came from the Basque region of Spain, where in the 1950s they began forming a cooperative to make kerosene stoves. They called it Mondragon, and as of the end of 2014, it employed 74,117 people in 257 companies and organizations in four areas of activity: finance, industry, retail and knowledge. There are a growing number of affiliates in countries and cities all over the world. The cooperative model works, and is essentially fair by its nature.
Something quite startling is happening these days. The veil is being lifted. The powers that hid for so long can no longer hide. The millions of us entrapped by their deceits and propaganda are learning to find the truth.
The despotic age of corporatism is coming to an end, though they will not go quietly. But we can enable this transition with as much peace, grace and agility as possible by removing the legal status of corporations. We must generate the will to throw down these tyrants and destroyers, while we leave them behind as much as possible in our daily lives.
Do not think this impossible because it’s never happened before. A host of things are happening today that haven’t happened before, especially in technology. Do not think this too audacious because it seems like a foreign idea. A mere five years ago the idea of taking on Wall Street seemed far fetched. Then came Occupy. The wind blows. We are finding our true selves, our connection and our power.
This is a time of great transition. Transitioning from corporate control to cooperative living seems right on time.
The Totality of Now
The totality of now sounds foreign, even meaningless, to most of us. Putting the words ‘totality’ and ‘now’ together is almost incomprehensible to people all over this planet. We clearly remember yesterday and understand tomorrow is on it’s way. Which is exactly true. The past is gone, and tomorrow never comes.
Yet we seem unable to get our heads wrapped around this central fact our biological existence. Very strange.
For starters, let us look to the truth. Now is an infinitesimally small moment of time. A second is host to innumerable ‘nows’, each leaking into the next. As we watch events like the Olympics, it is stunning what some small fraction of a second can mean in naming winners and losers. And even as this parade of changing energy swirls on, Now remains.
So how do we best define the idea behind this crazy word that has no time at all, but contains all of time? We call it Life.
Science might be a help in explaining. In the world of quantum mechanics, and in science at large, there is an implicit understanding that now is the only time when things happen. Yet even science leaves the notion implicit, instead of stating it as the central fact of Life. And science insists on gravity as the big deal. The big deal is energy.
Religion? Hardly, when it keeps trying to point us toward some future time where ‘heaven’ may wait for us. I do not know what awaits the end of biological life, but I very much appreciate this business of creating and of being together – a process that I trust continues long after these bodies are given up.
So, the fact is clear. We are always Here, Now, even as we are birthed, grow up, grow old and pass on. Indeed, it is impossible to leave Now, though most of us are so busted up from the old culture that we forget nearly all the time – stuck in our little heads. You will find it very difficult to believe this truth if your world consists of spending all your time in your thoughts and feelings, driven by your belief codes. What happened when I was victimized? When can I get that new pair of shoes? Who’s going to win the election?
Ask any plant, insect or animal where we are. They tell you by their very presence. Ask any child who’s not yet been distorted by an ugly world where fear reigns. They tell you the same. We are eternally Here, and all our millions of bubbled lives change this not at all.
Which begs the question, then what, indeed, is ‘This’?
This is simply Life, and this is our home. Which means we are all necessarily Here Together. The deeper understanding is knowing it’s two elementals, Awareness and Energy.
Awareness is Eternal. It is behind creation, and all that we know. Indeed, without Awareness we know nothing. It is our Source, the Force if you will. Some use the name God, or Allah, or Yahweh, or the Great Spirit. Yet Eternal Awareness [my preferred term], is the constant, the Presence within all that is.
Energy is movement, constantly shifting and changing. Energy is why yesterday is different than tomorrow, and it always happens Now, just as Awareness does. It is incapable of stillness, just as Awareness is incapable of movement. And yet it is only Here, Now, where both exist, and both are capable of existing.
This Is Tao, the yin and the yang of existence. This Is Life, where we always find ourselves. It’s actually quite enchanting. And yet we don’t feel enchanted. We feel broken and abused. Living within a harsh, diabolical and corrupt system does that.
And endless stream of urgent and upset thoughts, unruly emotions, belief codes that honor nothing – what can one expect when driven by such temperaments. All of these serve to keep us from the awakening and awareness of what I s. Rulers have kept us down for thousands of years by feeding us crap that serves to create fearful thoughts, unruly emotions and ugly belief codes. So this we must change.
And this change begins with the recognition of our common ground, our life here in Life.
Finally, do not let your uniqueness in space confuse you about our shared moment in time.
